A meeting of representatives of th? Primary Production Committee, tho Farmers' Union, and wheatgrowers of Ashiburton county decided to press strongly for a straight-out increase in the p'rice of wheat as the only method of obtaining the greater acreage desired by the Government. It was stated, however, that even if a higher price was obtained the acreage would not increase until next year.
