Four machines from the Central Fire Station turned out at 12.48 this afternoon to a rubbish fire .it the roar ot the State Theatre. George street. There was no damage.
Repatriated prisoners of .war and escapees were entertained last night by the -Joint Council of the Order of St. John and the New Zealand Red Cross Society at n picture theatre party. Later "thev were the guests of Mr and Mra Philip Barling at supper.
