DISTASTEFUL JOB
BUT BISHOPS FAVOUR BOMBING (Rec. 11.55 a.m.) LONDON, March 1. # " I favour bombing without any hesitation, t'he bombing of ail places of military necessity and their destruction in order to shorten the war and save lives," declared tihe Bishop of Fulham, Dr B. S. Batty. He added that he was certain that most of his fellow-bishops disagree with the attitude recently taken in the House of Lords, yet those speeches were made to represent the policy of the bishops. Those individuals who spoke in the House of Lords did not represent the episcopate's feelings. "I believe the only feeling among us is genuine sorrow that we should be compelled to use such weapons. We must honour our airmen who are doing a distasteful job."
