DUNEDIN RETURNS FOR FEBRUARY The February building returns for Dunedin show it substantial increase in the numiber of permits granted as compared with February last year. Fiftythree permits were issued for toe month, representing a value of £31,887. • These figures comprised two permits for new private dweaiings (value £3,335), 32 for alterations and additions to private dwellings (value, £3,2-14), tAvo for new buildings other than private dwellings (value, £13,800), and 14 for alterations and additions to buildings other than private dwellings (value, £5,363). In addition three permits were issued for the erection of five State house units (value, £6,175). In February of last year the same number of permits was issued as for the month under review, but the value represented was only £7,911. Last year's figures were made up of two permits for new private dwellings (value, £2,395), 43 for alterations and additions to private dwellings (value, £2,933), and eight for alterations and additions to buildings other than private dwellings (value, £2,583). There were no permits for new buildings other than private dwellings, and no permits were issued for the erection of State houses.
