RUSSIA AND FAR EAST
NO TERRITORIAL AMBITION NOfiW YORK, 'January 26.' Russia has renounced any territorial ambition in the Far East, reports the Chicago ' Sun's ' London correspondent. All the Allied Governments with interests in East Asia have been informed of the Soviet's renunciation, adds the correspondent. China may possibly grant Russia a Customs-free zone in Daircn or Port Arthur, or further south in the Shantung Peninsula. President Roosevelt, at the Teheran conference, informed Marshal Stalin of a post-war plan to place the Japanese mandated islands under American civil administration.
