MANCHESTER UNITY
Loyal Caversham Lodge held its first meeting of the year under the control of N.G. J. Smith, who was greeted with a particularly good attendance, including visitors from Loyal Princess Mary, Albion, and Hand and Heart Lodges. Routine business having been transacted, the lodge adjourned, and members were entertained by the lodge trustees, who donated prizes won by Sister J. Smith and P.G. Bro. Len. Anderson
The presentation of the annual balance at the meeting of Loyal Diinedin
disclosed a healthy state of finances generally, comment being in the main of a eulogistic nature. Over £I,OOO had been disbursed in sickness benefits during the year, and some £SOO in funeral claims. The meeting was well attended Among visitors welcomed were P.G. Bro. Larcomb, of the North Canterbury district, and P.G. Bro. Emerson, of Loyal Timaru Lodge. During the recess members played indoor bowls. A fine gesture by the officers of Loyal Caversham in conducting the business of Loyal Valley on Monday evening was appreciated to the full by Valley members. N.G. Bro. J. Smith was in the chair, and had the gratification of presiding over a full meeting of members and visiting brethren. •■ A notable visitor to the meeting was P.G. Bro.
