FAT CATTLE PRICES EASIER KEEN SALE FOR LAMBS At tho Burnside stock sale to-day there was again a large yarding of cattle, and'the 'quality generally was good. Prices were on a lower level than last week, particularly in the ox section, the drop in values being from £1 10s to £2 a head. Cows and heifers were in shorter.supply and maintained late values. Prime heavy ox realised up to £2O 7s 6d; prime, £l7 2s 6d to £lB 7s Gd; medium, £l4 2s 6cl to £ls 12s Gd; light, from £l2 7s Gd; primo heifers. £ll 2s Gd .to £l2 12s 6d; medium. £8 17s 6d to £lO 2s (3d; light, from £6 7s Gd; prime heavy cows, to £l4 2s 6d; prime, £9 2s Gd "to £lO 7s Gd: medium. £6 7s 6d to £7 12s Gd: light from £5 7s Gd. v , .'_ The entry in the fat sheep section numbered about 2*ooo, the quality being mixed, with some pens of ordinary descriptions.. Wethers maintained late rates. Ewes' were easier by 2s to 3s a head. Prime quality wethers made from 33s to 34s 6d; medium, 26s to 27s Gd; light, from 22s 6d; prime heavy ewes, to 30s; prime, 24s 6d to 265. Gd; medium, 20b to 22s 6d; light, from 13s.

A fairly heavy entry of lambs was forwarded, totalling more than 2,000 head. They included.a number of pens of good quality, but the bulk was of only medium quality. The sale was firm, especially for the best lambs. The yarding of store cattle was an average one, and the sale lacked animation, a uumber of pens being passed at; auction. Prices were £1 lower than last week for all classes. .> One pen of good quality, to four-year-old bullocks made'£l2 9s; two and a-half to three-year-olds, £R 15s to £9 7s Gd; 18-riionths-old, from £5 17s 6d.
