A hospitable gesture of the Dunedin Manufacturers' Association in presenting about 60 visiting delegates to the conference, of the Associated Chambers of Commerce in Duuedin last November with Christmas parcels of goods manufactured in the city has "produced a larae number of acknowledgments from the delegates who received the parcels. The presidents of the Wellington and Canterbury Chambers were inspired to acknowledge the gifts in'verse and forwarded their poems to Mr C. V. Smith, past-president of the association, who attended the conference to convey greetings, from the manufacturers and to announce the intention to forward the parcels. Mr Smith has replied in similar verse of Dunedin ideals ot hospitality.
