AUSTRALIAN COAL
GREATER PRODUCTION HECESSARY (Rec. 1 p.m.) CANBERRA, Jan. So. Mr Curtiit told the conference of premiers of all States now being held here that unless Australian coal production showed a substantial advance the whole war effort of the Commonwealth would be less this year than in 1943. Too much coal was being lost through stoppages. If men and management in the coal industry would pull together without pin iprickings one of Australia's great basic problems would be lessened.
