Weather conditions improved steadily during" the morning, and the lawns which had been holding well become keener. In the open championship Mrs Palmer had a long struggle with Mrs McCrackeu, but managed to win the third game, after winning the. first and losing the second. Colonel Beamish defeated his opponent in the championship, easily winning the first game by 20-9, while in the second Mrs Holmes made only two hoops. , The final of the eha,mpiouship. will be played tomorrow morning, commencing at 11 o'clock. 'Results : OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP. Mrs Palmer beat Mrs McCracken, 26-20. 14-26, 26-16; Colonel Beamish, beat Mrs Holmes, 26-9, 26-2. LADIES' CHAMPIONSHIP. Mrs Bonar beat Mrs Lattimer, 26-22; Mrs Brown beat Mrs Whitfield, 26-8; Mrs Stock-dale beat Mrs Moodie. 26-16. HANDICAP DOUBLES. Semi-final.—Mesdames Grant • and Middleton beat Mesdames O'Neill and Pottigrew. 26-13. ;, HANDICAP SINGLES. Mrs Kellaway beat Mrs Metcalf, 26-14: Mrs Pepper beat M.''ss E. Bremncr, 20-10.
