Possibly because of a similarity in shape to their usual habitat, or for safety in these days of honey shortage, a swarm of bees chose the letter posting box near the Pine Hill School, and denied local residents the right to deposit their mail there. In response to complaints the Post Office endeavoured to arrange for local beekeepers to remove the swarm, but was unsuccessful, and the bees had to be ejected forcibly. Postings may now be made normally.
