SHARE MARKET. There was a' sale and two reported sales of Bank of New Zealand at 42s on 'Change this morning, the market closing at 425-42 s 3d. National Bank of New Zealand were quoted at 535:545, A sale of 4 per cent. Slock, 1949-52, at £lO3 10s was reported, with a buyer still offering £lO3. The accounts of the Wellington Meat Export Company for the year ended September 30 show a net, profit of £4,202, compared with £4,692 in the previous year, and £6,388 in 1941. With the balance brought forward there is a credit of £6,862. Tho directors propose a dividend of 7d a share, requiring £4,338, leaving a balance of £2,524 to be carried forward. Last year no dividend was paid on ordinary shares, which under a capital reconstruction scheme were written down from 20s to 17s. MINING.
