HOMING PIGEONS

The Duuedin Homing Pigeon Club flew its second race from Wellington during the week-end. Mr CJ. Elliott liberated 143 birds _ from 21 lofts. Rainy weather prevailed all the way, and "made the flight difficult. The winning bird Hew the 4UU miles in 21hr 23inin at a velocity of 56U yards per minute. The result was as follows:—J. Seoullar's Star Aee 1, R. Fitzgerald's Red Dash 2, J. Ramsay's Spalimar 3, H. Millard's'Bright Lad 4, W. Hargreaves's Red Star 5. J. Still's Foreman 6. J. Still's Hone Hoke 7.

The club will take part in the New Zealand Racing Pigeon Federation's yearling challenge shield, of 250 miles or over. Next Saturday a race will be held from Parnassus, a distance of 201 miles.
