LAUD SALES ACT
NO APPLICATIONS FOR TRANSFERS Although the Servicemen's Settlement and Land Sales Act has been in operation for more than a week, no applications have yet been lodged in Dunedin for consideration by the committee appointed in Otago
Some inquiries have been made at the local oifice of the Lands and Survey Department, from which the new operations will be .administered, but they have been chiefly on the question of procedure. It is expected that after the accelerated sales of the last few weeks the number of transfers for which permission is sought in the near future will be small. Copies of the regulations setting out the procedure of the committees and the court will be available to legal practitioners within a dav or two. and they will then be in a position to prepare the documents for any applications coming before the committee.
