HEW ZEALAHDERS' PART IN MEDITERRANEAN CAMPAIGN {N.Z.P.A. Special Correspondent.) (Rcc. 12.20 p.m.) LONDON, Oct. 25. Three New Zealaiulers who have spent the last 15 months in the Mediterranean flying Albacores with the Fleet Air Arm on anti-submarine patrol are Lieutenant'A. L. Foubister, of Christehurch, Sub-lieutenants D. N. Swap, of Matamata, and R. Abeam, of Wellington. They were based for a time on Alexandria, then went to Gaza, where they did many night patrols. Foubister once attacked a submarine by moonlight, dropping depth charges, but could not see the results. The squadron was later moved to Mersa Matruh, then to Misurata, patrolling over the sea from land bases, but saw no more submarines. They lived in tents all the time, and spent last Christmas in the desert. They went to Malta in July this year. Foubister flew twice to Sicily and Ttalv, once taking the captain" of H.M.S. Warspite to Reggio. Foubister returned to England by'air. Swap and Abeam are coming by ship.
