THREE PREMISES ENTERED

Burglars were active in a building in Castle street during the week-end, and three premises were entered and ransacked. Altogether, a fairly substantial sum of money wa.s stolen, ono of the tenants being the. principal loser. The building was entered between 1 o'clock on Saturday afternoon and 7.45 o'clock last night. The premises of James McFarlane, coal merchant, were entered by breaking a rear window. The office was ransacked and a fairly substantial sum of money was stolen. In the same building the office of James Malcolm Young, carrier, was entered by breaking a side window facing into the coal yard and a small sum in cash and a packet of cigarette tobacco were stolen. The office of Commercial Motors Ltd. was entered from Mr Young's office, and a small sum of money and some petrol coupons were .stolen.
