RECORD BOMB LOAD

JAP. TROOPS PLASTERED LONDON, October 23. Liberator bombers have heavily strafed Japanese positions north of Finschhafen. Two hundred and twenty tons of bombs have been dropped on Japanese troops—a record load for tne campaign. A great deal of destruction was caused at Satelberg, which is being used as a Abase by the Japanese in their attacks in the Finschhafen area. .

The Japanese have lost several more planes in the last 24 hours, and 11 were shot down over Bougainville.
