ASSISTANCE FROM DOMINION

(P.A.) CHRISTCHURCH, Oct. 22. Support for any move by the New Zealand Government to make money available for the relief of the food shortage in Bengal has been given by the Canterbury Trades Council. This information was given to-day by the president of the council, Mr John Roberts, who said the members of the council had been concerned at the tragic situation in Bengal. They realised that it would hardly be possible to arrange food shipments from New Zealand in time; but if food oould # be bought elsewhere, it might be possible to give assistance.
