MACANDREW BAY ORPHANS ' CLUB
Tiie Macandrew Bay Orphans' Club entertained the ladies on Wednesday evening last, when over 200 guests assembled in. the Public Hall, Macandrew Bay, in response to the invitation of the club. The function took the form of a banquet supper and korero, followed by dancing. A multitude of spring flowers added to the pleasing appearance of the gaily decorated hall. The president, Bro. R. S. Glendining, was installed in the chair by Colonel A. E./ Loach, of Christchurch, lion, general secretary of the Kindred Clubs' Association. Representatives were present from the Christchurch Savage Club, Ashburton Savage Club, Oamaru Savage, Club, and Dunedin Orphans' Club. Items of a high standard were presented by Miss E. Kirkham, Bros. A. H. Todd, F. White. W. Cole, and the orchestra.Bro. R. J. Nicholson was the accompanist for the evening. A pleasing interlude was the presentation of the club's badge to Bro. A. H. Todd, of Ashburton. In making the presentation, the secretary conveyed to Bro. Todd the club's deep appreciation of his continued efforts to foster the cause of orphandom and savagery.
