WAR WEAPONS

ENEMY DEVELOPING NEW DEVICES NO EARLY END OF CONFLICT (Rec. 10 a.m.) NEW YORK. Oct. 7. The United States is building superable to fly the Atlantic, bomb Germany, and return without refuelling. This was disclosed by Mr Elmer Davis, who added that no other nation was building similar planes at present. However, an early end of the war could not be expected, because the enemy had developed new devices which would increase the difficulty of an Allied victory. Indeed, the war might be just entering a new phase in which German defence was stronger, and our ' attack would be more costly until the Allied inventors and tacticians designed new methods of attack.
