GENERAL MONTGOMERY'S PRAISE LONDON, July 18. " The Canadians were terrific on the beaches of Sicily, and also in the attack inland," said General Montgomery, in an.interview with the Canadian war correspondent, Ross Munro. " I am glad to have the Canadians here. 1 know they are sorry there has not been much real fighting, because the Italians are running so fast, hut they will get all they want before they are finished."
General Montgomery expressed satisfaction with the progress of operation's, and, asked for an estimate of the length of the campaign, he said: "Maybe sis months; maybe two weeks.'.'.
