MACANDREW BAY ORPHANS

The Macandrew Bay Orphans' Club held its annual " Hillside Night " on Saturday, when Bro. W. L. McEvoy presided over a large gathering of members and visitors, who were welcomed by the president of the Macandrew Bay Club (Bro. R. S. Glendining). The following contributed to the pro- "" -ip">:—Songs—Mr A. I. Murray, Mr P. Cull, Bro. J. G. Thomson, and Bro. J. P. r.vidu, recitation, mo. W. Maule; pianoaccordion solos, Mr \V. A. Park. Bro. It.; J. Nicholson was the accompanist. The vicepresident (Mr W. C. Cunliffe) extended the club's appreciation of the annual effort of the Workshops manager and the members of his staff in entertaining the Macandrew Bay Orphans. Mr Cull suitably replied. The President announced that the club would pay a visit to the Oamaru Savage Club on a date to be arranged, and to the Dunedin Orphans' Club on August 3. Three new members were initiated.
