Admiral Cunningham commands all naval operations, and Air Chief Marshal Tedder commands the air. Vice-Admiral Ramsay is naval commander under Admiral Cunningham. Vice-Admiral H. K. Hewitt commands the American naval forces, Lieuten-ant-general Spatz the North-west African air force. Air Marshal Coningham is commander of the North-west African tactical air force, Major-general Doolittle is the commanding general of the strategic air force, and Air Vice-Marshai Lloyd is commander of the North-west African coastal air force.
