TOUGHING SCENES AT STATION (P.A.) CHRISTCHURCH, July 13. Cheer upon cheer from a crowded troop train and answering cheers from those Waiting at tho railway .station marked the return to the city this morning of the veterans of tho Aid ~Se\v Zealand ' Expeditionary l'orce in the Middle East. Weather conditions were unpleasant, but tho reception given to the men was i" no way affected, and there were many touching scenes as men were reunited with thenrelatives and friends after absences oi up to three and a-half years. Ceremony of all kind was taboo and as soon ns'tho special train pulled into tho station, just after 8 o'clock the men were allowed to leave the station immediately and go to their homes. Breakfast was provided oir the station for men whose homes are in other parts of the province, and these troops continued the journey later in the mornin», For a long time family groups remained standing-in the rain, lgnoring the weather in the happiness ot the moment. In several instances delighted fathers were to be seen having their first words with children horn after their departure for the Middle Mst.
