DEATH OF GENERAL SIKORSKI KILLED IN PLANE ACCIDENT LONDON, July 5. General Sikorski, the Polish Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief of the Polish forces, was killed in an aircraft crash near Gibraltar last night. Making, this announcement . to-day, the Air Ministry states that the aircraft, a Liberator bomber, crashed shortly after taking off. The only sur-
vivor -was the pilot, who is in hospital with serious injuries. Among the occupants of the Liberator were General Sikorski's daughter and several members of his staff. It was learnt in London to-day that Colonel Victor Cazalet. M.P., was also in the plane. He was political liaison officer for General Sikorski. [Colonel (then Captain) Victor Cazalet spent a week-end in Dunedin a few years ago, when he accompanied the late Lord Lothian to a Conference on British Commonwealth Relations in Australia.]
