'DESERT VICTORY'
FEATURE FILM OF EIGHTH ARMY'S ADVANCE (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, February 13. The personnel of an Army film unit is working night and day getting out a feature film of the advance of the Eighth Army to Tripoli entitled ' Desert Victory.' Every foot of the film was taken by official cameramen at the front. From 40,000 ft of action shot by some 30 cameramen attached- to the Army film and photography unit and the R.A.F. film unit, a feature film of 5,000 ft to 6,000 ft is being prepared. The job of selecting the best scenes to tell a coherent story from the mass ; of material is no easy task. \ Every cameraman turned in scenes full of" action. From thousands of parts a complete picture will come—a picture which will show the greatest advance in the history of warfare from the perilous days when Rommel forced the Eighth Army back to Alamein, only 60 miles from Alexandria, to the hoisting of the Union Jack over Tripoli. ' Desert Victory ' will be seen in London early in March.
