BURMA CAMPAIGN

RANGOON HEAVILY BOMBED (British Official Wireless.) (Rec. 10 a.m.) RUGBY, February 8. A joint' Indian communique states: Last night R.A.F. Liberators - dropped nearly 30 tons of heavy bombs on enemy objectives in Rangoon. Fires were burning as the aircraft left the area. Yesterday one formation of Blenheims, escorted by fighters, bombed a Japanese-occupied village east of the Kaladan River. Another similar formation destroyed enemy motor transport near the Taungup Pass. Offensive patrols included attacks on small coastal shipping along the Ai'akan coast. None of our aircraft is missing in these day and night operations.
