AMERICAN “SEAMOBILE”

KOVEL TYPE OF VESSEL WASHINGTON, October 22. Tho lend-lease administrator, Mr Edward Stettinins, announced that a contract had been let for the construction of the first full-sized “ seamobile.” a redesigned petrol-driven ship formerly called the Sea Otter, which has been the centre of a storm of controversy for over a year, some contending that it was tho answer to the submarine menace and others that it was wholly impracticable. Mr Stettinins said that when the vessel was and thoroughly tested they would know whether more “ scamobiles ” would be built or not. The aim was to give this, novel vessel every fair chance to prove its worthiness.
