CONTROL OF SHIPPING IN AUSTRALIA

CANBERRA. ()ct. 18. Mr Curtin announced to-day that a Ministry of Shipping would be established in Australia. Mr J. A, Beasley has taken over the new portfolio, and his office in future will be Minister of Supplv and Shipping. Senator J. M. Fraser will be Assistant Minister of Supply and Shipping. The decision is believed to be the result of urgent representations by the United States authorities for the more expeditious handling of shipping.
