FERRY ‘ STRIKES SUBMERGED WALL

(P.A.) AUCKLAND, August 5. Running into a dense bank of drift* ing fog about 8 o’clock this morning, the vehicular ferry Eaglehawk, bound from Devonport to the city, struck si submerged portion of the rock . wall near the berthing place. The ferry .was moving slowly at the time. , .Sh« was easily backed off. The damage below the water line is thought to be slight, but the ship will have to be docked for examination. 1
