Values stowed an easing in fat cattle, while other sections were firm to a shade better. The quality of the cat cattle was extra good, being the best quality, yarded for some weeks. Ewes formed the major portion of the sheep entry, while wethers were again in short supply. Porkers , and baconers met with keen competition throughout. Fat Cattle.—The entry of fat cattle comprised 355 head. The quality on the whole was good, but with the increased yarding prices were a shade easier. On the average ox beef could be quoted at from 10s to 15s a head lower. Heifers were in keen demand, being 15s to £1 better. Cows were in over supply, and were usually easier by £1 per head on'last week’s parity. The top price for the day was £23 17s fid. Quotations: Extra prime heavy bullocks, to £23 17s fid; prime, £l6 17s fid to £l9 2s fid; medium. £l4 12s 6d to £ls 17s fid; light. £l ° & 6(5 to £ll 17s fid; extra prime heifers and cows, to £l6 17s fid; prime, £lO 2s fid to £ll 17s fid; medium. £8 12s 6d to £9 12s fid; light, £5 17s fid to £6 17s fid. . , ', Fat Sheep.—The yarding of fat sheep numbered approximately 1,650. Thd entry, which was made up mostly of ewes, was ot good quality, while wethers were in limited numbers. The sale was keen from the outset, all classes being 2s to 3s a bead better than last week. Quotations: Heavy-weight wethers, to 47s 3d; prime, to 40s to 42s 3d; medium, 33s fid to 365; light, 28s fid to 30s; prime heavy ewes, to 335; prime, 28s to 30a fid; medium, 25s fid to 25s fid. Pigs.—All classes in this section were smaller than last week, the entry being barely sufficient to meet the inquiry. Competition was again exceedingly keep, and porkers were better by 4s to 5s a head. Quotations: Best baconers, to £6 9s; medium, £4 10s to £5 4s; light, £4 Is to £4 8s; best porkers, £4 to £4 12s; i 14s to £3 18s; light, £2 19s to £3 13s. The entry of store pigs was a small one. The demand was keen for all classes. Best weavers made from 28s to 325, and medium, 245. t0 gtore Cattle—There was a small entry in this section. One pen of three to four-year-old bullocks realised £ll 4s. Vealers were again in short supply, good runncrs makmg up to £8 4s, and suckers £4 5s to £5 15s.
