SHARE MARKET ' On ’Change this morning the demand continUcd for New Zealand Government issues, but the market was bare of sellers, with the exception of a parcel of 3 per cent. 1951-54 War Loan at £99. Banking issues saw an improvement in New South Wales to £26 2s 6d buyers, other stock being practically unchanged. All insurance stock -was sought at recent rates, hut no sellers ’ declared, There was no change in shipping, and in meat preserving both issues of New Zealand Refrigerating were wanted, the fully-paids at 18s and the contributing at 7s 6d. The loan and agency section .. was fairly active, New Zealand Loan and Mercantile stock being -offered at £42, while W.S. and Co. .ordinaries were sought at 18s 9d and the prefs at 19s;9d. There was little change in breweries. ' New Zealands had a market at 31s buyers, 32s 3d sellers. Coal and oil were active, Kaitangatas being on offer at 335; (Wcstports were quoted 22s 9d buyers, 23s 6d sellers, and WestpontStockton ordinaries 2s 5d buyers, 2s 7d sellers; the prefs were on offer at 6s lOd. Taranaki Oils were wanted at 3s 6d, and the Developoment issue at Is 6d. The woollen section had numerous buyers, Bruce ordinaries at 22s 6d, the prefs at 20s, while Mosgiels were sought at £lO 10s. Thera was very little change apparent in the miscellaneous group, and in Australian mining 20s was offered for Bulolo Dredging; Mouit Lyells were quoted 22s buyers, 23s sellers.
