MORE MAN POWER COMMITTEES

TO DEAL WITH INDUSTRIAL APPEALS (P.A.) WELLINGTON, March 7. Tho Minister of National Service, Mr Semple, to-day _ announced the establishment of additional Man Power Committees at the four main centres. “ These new committees have been set up,” Mr Semple said, ‘‘ especially for the purpose of dealing with appeals by employers and employees from tho decisions and directions given by the district man power officers in the course of their duties under the provisions recently made in the National Service Emergency Regulations for the control and direction of industrial man power.” The new committees will be ready to commence their sittings within a few davs. They will be known as man power (industrial) committees in order to distinguish them from the present man power committees, which are concerned with appeals against service with the Territorial Force. The personnel of the industrial committees is as follows: Auckland.—Chairman, Mr John Liddell; employers’ representative, Mr W. J. ■ Truscott; workers’ representative, Mr K. Simpson. Wellington. Chairman, Mr John Read ; employers’ representative, Mr H. O. Pittendrigh; workers’ representative. Mr John Arthurs.

Christchurch.—Chairman, Mr K. G. Archer; employers' representative, Mr T. H; Lee; workers’ representative, Mr P. J. Kelly, Dunedin, Chairman, Mr W, N. Grantham; employers’ representative, Mr M. G. Black; workers’ representative, Mr Henry Gillard.
