Daily Intercession

There is a God able to save us, and the God Whom we serve, from the burning furnace and from your power, O King. But even if he does not understand, we will not bow doivn before the golden image.—(Daniel iii.:l6-18.) Help us, O God, not to go astray after any other kind of god, or to think that we can ever make for ourselves a God like unto Thee out of anything we can see or touch, neither gold, nor lands, nor any possession, neither human friend nor the creations of the mind,'nor any other thing. Keep us asking whether we are on Thy side, and not whether Thou art on our side. And make us grateful for all who in these days work for us, risk their lives for us, suffer scarcity or die for us. For all such we pray and commit them to Thy keeping, in the name of Christ. — Amen.
