ARRANGEMENTS FOR " PURGE " SIMILAR INSTRUCTION TO AIR COUNCIL LONDON. March 5. In connection with the Army Council instruction to all commands calling lor a report on the efficiency and alertness of all officers up to and including the rank of lieutenant-colonel who aro 45, a later statement says that reports will bo prepared with no other consideration than that of the officer’s ability to perform his duties. The recommendation will fall into one of three categories: (!) Recommended for retention in a present unit or appointment. (3) Recommended for a less active unit or other employment. (f!) Not recommended for further employment. An Air Council instruction along .similar lines has been issued to all commands.
