WOOLLEN MILLS AWARD

FAILURE TO REACH AGREEMENT (P.A.) WELLINGTON, March 4. No agreement was reached in conciliation proceedings on the application hv the New Zealand Federated Woollen Mills and Hosiery Factories Employees’ Association for a new award. The hours of work as well as some of the minor clauses were agreed on in terms of the existing award, but the main clauses of the application will conic before the Court of Arbitration. The increases in pay sought ranged from 2d to lid an hour. The employers’ counter-proposals were for a renewal of the existing award.
