QUESTION OF KEEPING THEM MOBILE (P.A.) WKLUNGTOX, dan. 2b. In connection with n suggestion bv Iho M ayor of Wellington (.Mr Hislop) that a gallon of petrol should ho issued to each motor oar selected for K.P.S, duties to keep it in running order, the Minister of National Service (Mr Semple) said to-day that Mr Hislop fiad been definitely advised by the War Cabinet that the petrol would he found only if it were impracticable to do the job' in any other way. The Government was well aware of the importance of the matter and was urgently dealing with it. A decision on the (picstion would he made early next week, the Minister added, and the question of keeping K.P.S. cars mobile had been dealt with as expeditiously as possible in' the circumstances.
