POLISH ARMY
RUSSIA GRANTS LOAN LONDON, January 24. The Moscow radio says that an agreement has been signed at Kuibyshev under which Russia grants Poland a loan of 300,000,000 roubles for the upkeep of the Polish army in Russia. An unspecified loan has also been granted for the upkeep of the Czechoslovak brigade in Russia.
INCOME TAX PAYABLE. IN accordance with Order in Council, dated 10th September, 1941, issued under the Land and Income Tax (Annual) Act, 1941, I hereby notify that tho Income Tax leviable' under section 3 of that Act is payable at my office in one sum on THURSDAY, 12th February, 1942, and that additional tax accrues if not paid by sth March, 1942. Liability is not suspended by any objection, and tax must be paid by the. prescribed date to avoid additional percentage; any overpayment will be refunded. Demands will be issued on or about sth .February,‘ 1942, and must be presented with all payments. Taxpayers who do not receive an expected demand should notify me. 'J. M.
