NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a total “BLACKOUT TRIAL ” will taka place *omo time between the hour of 9 P.M. aud 11 P.M. on SUNDAY NEXT J\NU\RY 18. A succession o£ intermittent blasts of 10 seconds, to be separated by silent periods of 5 seconds, with the aid of Sirens. Whistles, or Gongs, will announce to the public that a “State of Emergency” has arisen, aud the “Blackout ” must commence. . . Immediately these signals are given, it will be an offence against the ReguiaUous:— (a) For any light to ho displayed inside any roofed building, closed _ vehicle, cr other enclosure in such circumstances that any illumination therefrom is visible from outside the building, vehicle, or enclosure. (b) For any light to be displayed otherwise than in a roofed building, closed vehicle, or other covered enclosure. (c) For any vehicle to be driven on the streets or to display any lights either inside or outside any vehicle. * The termination of the period of .the “ Blackout Trial ” will be announced by the “ AH Clear ” signal, consisting of a con tinuous blast of 2 minutes’ duration by the .Sirens, Whistles, or Gongs. The Dunedin E.P.S. District extends from Mosgiel to Port Chalmers inclusive, throughout which area the State cf Emergency will exist and to which the “Blackout ” conditions will applv. G. T.
