VICE-REGAL VISIT
PROGRAMME ARRANGED INSPECTION OF HOME GUARD , Their Excellencies the , GovernorGeneral (Sir Cyril Newall) and Lady Newall will arrive in Dunedin by the 4.18 train on Tuesday afternoon and will be here until Thursday morning, when' they leave for the south by the 8.33 train. During their stay their Excellencies will be the guests of Sir Lindo and Lady Ferguson. Their itinerary has been arranged as follows:—* Tuesday.
7.30 p.m.—Their Excellencies will attend a combined parade of city and suburban units of the Horae Guard andl tho Women’s War Service Auxiliary at the Oval. His Excellency will inspect tho parade, deliver a brief address, and take the salute at the march past. 8.15 p.m.—Their Excellencies will visit the lied Cross headquarters at the Queen’s Building, Princes street, to inspect general organisation and Red Cross stores. 8.30 p.m.—Their Excellencies will visit the Concert Chamber, Town Hall, to meet E.P.S. personnel, including first aid workers and fire-fighting units. His Excellency null deliver a brief address. Wednesday. 9.30 a.m.—His Excellency will visit J. and A. P. Scott’s Leith Engineering Works, ' / 10.30 a.m.—His Excellency will visit, Messrs Ross and Glendining’s Roslyn Mills, Kaikorai Valley. 11 a.m.—Her Excellency, accompanied by the mayoress (Mrs A. H. Allen), will visit the Plunket Hospital and Training Centre at Anderson’s Bay. 12.15 p.m.—His Excellency will nay a brief visit to the rooms of the Returned Soldiers’ Association in Moray Place.
Thursday. 8.33 a.m.—Their Excellencies leave Dunedin by train for Gore.
