HOLIDAY ACCIDENTS
NO SERIOUS MISHAPS
There have been no serious accidents during the past two days, but several persons were admitted to hospital after accidents of a minor nature. The first ease ivas that of William Burns, an elderly man, residing at Mosgiel, "who was admitted at 6.15 on Wednesday evening suffering from a back injury received when he fell from a dray at Mosgiel. When she fell in Stuart street,, tho same night, Mrs Alice McPherson, an elderly woman, residing at Wickliffo Terrace, Port Chalmers, received a head injury and was admitted to hospital at 11.30. . At 12.15 on the morning of New Year’s Dav, there were two admissions. Ronald Weaver, aged 10 years, residing at 6 Sydney street, was admitted with concussion received when he fell while skating. George Brooks, who lives at 139 Alain North road, was the otheraccident case. He was suffering from a fractured jaw- received when he fell from a car. Another early morning admission was the result of a fall from a motor cycle. The injured man was Frederick Shaw, who resides at 7 (Braemar street, and ho was suffering from concussion. At 3.35 p.m., Mjss Pearl Agnew, who resides at 15 Alison Crescent, was admitted, suffering from abrasions received when she fell from her bicycle in Queen’s Drive. Judith Mahon, aged four years, who lives at 16 Higholiff road, was admitted at 8 o’clock with a fractured left arm received when she fell while playing, and a quarter of an hour later, Airs Catherine McKellar, an elderly woman, residing at 87 Maolaggan street, was admitted with an injury to her left eye received when sho fell a her home.
