Bartlett, who has been: in charge of the Salvation Army Corps in Hamilton for several years, has been transferred to take charge in DunedinMajor C. Lee. of Invercargill, will replace Major Bartlett in Hamilton. Mr Howard Hoskins, rector of tba Nightcaps District High School, has been appointed inspector of schools in the Auckland Education Board’s district, where he will begin his duties on March 1. Mr Hoskins was formerly, head master of the Cheviot, Pareorai East, and Woodend Schools. Mr A. L. Gosling, well known in shipping circles as victualling superintendent of the White Star Line and later the Cunard White Star Line, has arrived at Blenheim from London and is staying with his brother, Mr J. GosSergoant R. B. Beruey, R.N.Z.A.F., to whom the D.F.M. has been awarded, is. a son of Mr J. H. Berney, of Eketahuna. He is 25 years of age and was born at Eketahuna. He attended the Greytown Primary School and the Wairarapa High School, and subsequently engaged in farming. He is a well-known Rugby player and cricketer in the Wai- : rarapa.
