The distiuction of scoring the first senior century of the season was gained by D. D. -Taylor, Middlcmore, who was unbeaten at U 6. Later in the afternoon N- Ellis, Grafton, retired at 106. University 111 for five, declared (Cooper 48 not out; Boggs three for 33) beat Training College 54 (Matheson three for 10, Cooper three for 20) and 58 for five (Malbeson three for 23). North Shore 51 for none drew with PonsonbyBalmoral. WELLINGTON. Army 140 (D. S. Wilson 30; Blundell nine for 62) beat Wellington 96 (Kerr 27, Meech 26; O’Brien four for 31). Wilson live for 49) beat Air lorce 97 (bharrock 25, Barr 22, McCarthy 21; Burnard five for 19), and 54 for seven (McCarthy 47 not out • Wilson five for 28). Hutt 122 (Champncss 48, L. four for 34) by 245 runs on the first innings. College Old Boys 88 for seven, declared (J. Kilbirnie 202 for five (Church 94, Bain 46; A’Court . two for 42) bent Institute 186 (Rodgers 39, Sheffield 35, Ormiston 30, Bartlett 22; Ashenden four for 68, Eaton three for 54, Allen three for 60) on the first innings. CHRISTCHURCH. In the seventh round of matches in the Canterbury Cricket Association’s' competitions Old Boys made 303 in 125 minutes and Lancaster Park 312 in 131 minutes., Two centuries were made, P. B. Smith getting 109 not out in 94 minutes and M. Cummings 102 for St. Albans in 75 minutes. The most brilliant effort was that of V. C. Empson for Lancaster Park, his 92 not out taking 58 minutes. Scores: —Old Boys 303 for three, declared (Smith 109 not out, Hadlee 83, Anderson 36 not out) drew with St. Albans 235 for seven (Cummings 102, Sugden 30 not out; Anderson three for 43). Sydenham 171 for nine (F. Kerr 34, Shaw 32; Roberts four for 55) beat Eiccarton 169 (Cullen 54, Andrews 51; Grealbatch four for 44, Mahoney three for 47, Shaw three for 65) on the first innings. Lancaster Park 312 for five, declared (Empson 92 not out, Cromb 58, Stout 50, Davey 49, Fitzsimmons 37 not out) drew with Army 197 for nine (Miller 43, Milnes 40, Patrick 35; Cromb five for 91). East Christchurch 231 for seven, declared (Blight 95, James 44) beat Air Force 129 (Milne 34; Davis five for 48, Kennedy four for 44) on the first innings. West Old Boys 209 for one, declared (Beslcy 77, Moynihan 40) drew with Old Collegians 142 for eight (Ager 53).
