Fire 'broke out last night in a combined dressing and tool shed, owned by the reserves department, in the Woodhaugh Gardens. The Central Fire Station received the call at 8.30, and a quick save was effected, only slight damage being done to a wall. The causa of the outbreak is unknown. “ I didn’t like the took of that pretty maid you engaged, so I discharged her this afternoon,” said Mrs Smythe. “Before giv. ing her a chance? ” asked her husband, “ No, before giving you one.” “He that courts and runs away may live to court anotbr day.” “ But he who courts and does not wed may find himself in court instead,”-
