AIR BASES AND PORTS USE DEMANDED BY NAZIS LONDON, Nov. 29. The Madrid correspondent of the ‘ Daily Mail ’ says that the Vichy Government is reported to have agreed to allow Germany full use of the air bases at. Toulon and Bizerta in order to supply and reinforce General Rommel's forces. Germany lirst demanded full use of the ports of Toulon and Bizerta. but Marshal Potain refused, in spite of strong representations from Admiral Darlan. Marshal Detain agreed to the use of the air bases only after stronger promptings from Admiral Darlan. Meanwhile a constant stream of French ships is taking supplies from Marseilles to French Tunisia. A later message says that the Vichy Government has issued an assurance that North African air and naval bases will not be ceded to Germany. NAZI AGENTS IN MOROCCO ENOUGH TO FORM SMALL ARMY LONDON, Nov. 30. The Brazzaville radio says Morocco is packed with German agents who are so numerous that they could easily be formed into an efficient army of aggression. Local armistice commissions are everywhere. A commission numbering 200 is in the
small port of Fdala, near Casablanca, where there are _ important petrol dumps. A commission at Mekncs numbers 150, and there are 56 agents at Marrakesh, who control the cobalt mines . and the whole of Southern Morocco. Other agents devote their attention to batteries at Agadir and other coastal strongholds. German submarines thus far have not refuelled at Casablanca, but refuel at secret bases along the coast. At least--500 Vichy planes stand by at important airports near Rabat, Fez, and Marrakesh. The majority were delivered before the armistice.
