At the Linden Lodge’s quarterly meeting the social security subsidy received covered a short period in May. Further application for the remainder is to be made immediately. The classification of the funeral benefit at £7O instead of £BO was the subject of considerable discussion, and as a test case it was decided to submit all particulars to the grand secretary for confirmation. A report was received from the juvenile lodge, Linden’s Pride, that its reopening would take place in February, when all parents would be invited. The new officers are: Bro. IW. Lewis, V.A., and Bro. Tom Brown, O.G. Bro. Lewis was also nominated for the office of district president, No. 1 district. Bros. R. J, Tyrrell and R. A. Morrison were elected Grand Lodge representatives, with Bros. Rusbridge and Freeman as substitutes. The district president of No. 1 district was a visitor. The Lily of the Valley Lodge, U.A.0.D., met on Wednesday, November 19. Acting A.D. Bro. Struthers occupied the chair. The visitors were District President Bro. I. Anderson, of No. 1 district; P.D.P. Bro. H. Brockie, sec. Ivanhoe Lodge; and P.A. Bro. Lewis, of Linden Lodge. An invitation to attend the installation of officers of the Royal Arch Chapter was received. The bards reported favourably on' brethren on the sick fund, and sick pay amounting to £8 6s 8d was passed for payment. The election of officers resulted as follows; V.A.D., Bro. Grubb; A.D., Bro. A. Struthers; treasurer, Bro. H. Green; M.C., Bro. W Holdaway; AD. Bards, Bros. Winter and Moore; 1.G., Bro. Morris; 0.G., Bro. Le Brun; V.A. Bards, Bros. F.
