Crabshaw: " You’re very carefull when you see a pedestrian crossing the street.” Speedwell: “ Yes, I have a new car and I don't want to get any dents in the mudguards.” The strong man was explaining his act to his agent. “ I place a heavy stone on my head,” he asserted, “ and then my assistant picks up a 161 b sledge hammer, swings it wilb all his might— and cracks the stone in half.” The agent grew dizzy at the thought. “That’s marvellous,” he enthused. “ But how about your head—don’t you ever feel it? ” The strong man waved a hand. “ Yes,” ho admitted. “ That’s why I sometimes carry aspirins! ”
