HIGHLAND PIPE BAND
Tho Dunedin Highland Pipe Band is always willing to help in any good cause, with the result that this year the calls_ on its services have been many and varied. Last Sunday the band, under Drum-major Mahar and Pipe-major Fraser, entertained the patients at Orokonui Home and Seacliff, and also called in to the James Powell Convalescent Home at Warrington and played a few numbers to the patients there. The programme for the day included the following:—‘ Tho Pipers’ Cave,’ ‘ Atholl Highlanders,’ ‘ Heroes of Flodden,’ ‘ Blue Bonnets,’ ‘ Sweet Maid of Glenderual,’ ‘ Hundred Pipers,’ 1 Cock of the North,’ ‘My Home,’ ‘ Loch Levin,’ ‘ Marquis of Huntley,’ ‘ Phiob Moir,’ ‘ Lochiel’s March,’ ‘ Highland Cradle Song,’ ‘ Bonnie Dundee,’ * Bonawe Highlanders.’ Some hymn tunes were also played. At Orokonui Home Dr Milne expressed the thanks of the patients and staff, and at Seacliff Dr McLachlan thanked the members of the band for the excellent music they had provided.
