[From Ouk Correspondent.] RESUSCITATION EXAMINATIONS. Ten members of the Milton Home Guard and E.P.S. organisations sat for their resuscitation examination last week. Mr P. Mathieson (Dunedin) was the examiner, and all passed. They were: 0. A. Youiv, W. George, A. Paterson, J. C. Duthie, G. M. Smith, John Mitchell, T. M. Scott, Js. .Clark, T. Bedford, and U. Walker, ST. JOHN AMBULANCE. The annual competitions under the auspices of the South Otago St John Ambulance Association will be held at Baiclutha on Saturday. Teams from the various divisions aro taking part, m the various events, and a very instructive and interesting afternoon should result. WOMEN’S INSTITUTE. Mrs J. Tweodie occupied the chair at the monthly meeting of Balclutha Women s Institute on Tuesday afternoon. The motto was “ A house without looks is ~ike a house without windows.” A welcome was extended to Mrs S. Gardiner, of Oliai, wbo has taken up residence in Balclutha. The correspondence included the. business paper for the half-yearly federation meeting to bo hold at Balclutha this week. Several parcels were received for the Makogai lepers. The roll-call “ Sandwich fillings,” was particularly well responded to. The points competitions for the day were —Victorian posy, Mrs J. Montgomerie 1 and 2; Mrs J. T. Sutherland 3. Savouries, three varieties: Mrs Sutherland 1. During the social half -hour Mrs Captain Flintoff Tendered two very enjoyable songs. Mrs J. Clark gave an interesting demonstration on dressmaking, and the hostesses dispensed afternoon tea. The winners of the points competitions for the half-year were: Mrs Montgomerie 3. Mesdames Scc-tt and P. Marshall equal 2; Mrs MeDinrmid 3. Bloom: Mesdames Montgomerie and Sutherland equal 1.
