ACCIDENTS AND DEATHS

ELDERLY MAN INJURED. Hugh Hunter, an man, was admitted to the Public Hospital at 5.30 last evening, suffering from a hip injury caused by a fail. RUN OVER BY RAILWAY TRUCK. Mrs Charlotte Annie Jones, aged 75 years, of Aromoho, was killed instantly through being struck by railway trucks on the Aramoho level crossing. Mrs F. M, Burns, proprietress of a shop near the crossing, was standing on the path,, and, seeing trucks being backed to. wards the crossing and Mrs. Jones walk, ing on to the crossing, called and ran toward her. Mrs Jones, who was deaf and had her hat down, walked on to the line and was knocked down and run over by the first truck. A railway porter riding on the first truck, jumped in front of the moving truck in an endeavour to get Mrs Jones_ clear, buti failed.—Wanganui Association message.
